Philosophy
We started this business most of all so we could rely on the
service ourselves. Our own personal domains are hosted here, and
we take reliability seriously and are capable of achieving it.
Ensuring the long-term stability
of the service is the primary goal. Everything flows from that.
By long-term we mean that there is no "exit strategy". We do
not plan to sell out to a bigger ISP and leave our customers to the
tender mercies of who knows what. This has happened too many times to
us already. We are privately held, but financially conservative,
in support of the long-term stability of the service.
Reliability is another key item. We have enough operational
experience to know that the way to achieve reliability is to
leave things alone.
This we do, while still developing new
and improved services for our customers. (Choosing like-minded
suppliers is also important: Our equipment and co-lo providers do more
than a small part to contribute to our extremely high service
reliability.)
We also share a deep committment to customer service,
born of our empathy with them as (sometimes hapless)
users ourselves. To satisfy our very demanding customers, we must earn their
business all over again every day. In operation since
early 2001, we have done that. We can do it for you.
One last thing, which sounds a bit odd unless you've dealt with
ISPs and telcos a lot: We strive for excellence in billing.
How do we do it, when giant hundred-year-old companies haven't got
it straight yet? Simple: We admit our mistakes (which of
course we try not to make) and we give the customer the benefit
of the doubt.
